Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Design/Drafter at E-11 level to model, draft, and package complex components and systems for weapon-related projects. You will independently define modeling structure, lead design reviews, and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on hardware design, fabrication, and testing.

The role requires strong CAD skills, experience with Creo and PDMLink, and ability to guide non-standard design challenges with ingenuity.

Qualifications

• 3D parametric CAD experience and ability to create models/drawings
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T and drafting standards
• Experience with component/tool design and lab/industrial tooling

Responsibilities

• Create and revise CAD models, drawings, and product data records
• Apply drafting standards and design practices to assigned work
• Lead design reviews with engineers and stakeholders
• Develop design solutions for complex static/dynamic challenges
• Support/lead estimating, scheduling, and fabrication-readiness activities
• Coordinate with customers to define requirements and resolve drawing/model issues
• Mentor lower-level designers as needed
