Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Senior CAD Technician (Civil 3D) to support environmental, civil and geotechnical projects across multiple offices, including Mount Pleasant, SC. Responsibilities include creating layouts, grading plans and construction details, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring drafting quality.

The role requires strong CAD expertise, experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, familiarity with ArcGIS or MicroStation, and ability to collaborate across offices.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting; 1 year CAD drafting experience (3+ yrs preferred).
• Autodesk AutoCAD Certification within last 3 years (preferred).
• Experience with grading plans, alignments, surfaces, earthwork for civil projects.
• Experience with land or aerial surveying data and files.
• Experience with stormwater design (preferred).
• Experience with ArcGIS and MicroStation (preferred).
• Extensive experience with AutoCAD releases; knowledge of annotations, blocks, sheets, XREFs.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and finalize design plans following Geosyntec standards.
• Visualize civil/geotechnical concepts and translate into drawings.
• Analyze inputs to determine efficient drawing approaches.
• Manage production of drawing sets and revisions.
• Transfer information from drawings to CAD with proper symbols.
• Copy detailed plans and perform non-routine drafting tasks.
• Operate plotters, printers, scanners, and other devices.
• Proofread CAD drawings for accuracy and formatting.
• Assist mentoring CAD Technicians and support CAD standards group.
• Collaborate with Geosyntec CAD team to ensure quality of drawings.
