Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants in the United States seeks a Senior CAD Drafting Technician (Civil 3D) to join our South Atlantic Region. The role focuses on developing layouts, grading plans and details for civil projects including landfills, industrial sites and utilities, combining drafting with engineering concepts.

The position offers collaboration with engineers and CAD staff across multiple offices, mentorship for junior technicians, and opportunities from conceptual design through construction

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting and 1 year CAD drafting experience (3+ years preferred) in an engineering setting.
• AutoCAD Certified Professional exam within last 3 years (preferred).
• Experience with grading plans, alignments, surfaces, earthwork for civil projects.
• Experience with land surveying data and stormwater design (preferred).
• Proficiency with Civil 3D annotations and surfaces (preferred).
• Strong math, geometry, and reading of redline drawings.
• Valid U.S. driver's license for travel.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and finalize design plans using Geosyntec standards.
• Interpret civil/geotechnical concepts and translate to drawings.
• Produce drawing sets from concept through construction.
• Transfer engineering data to CAD drawings with proper symbols.
• Mentor CAD technicians and support CAD standards improvements.
• Collaborate with CAD staff to review work for quality.
