Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior CAD Drafting Technician (Civil 3D) to support civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering design across the South Atlantic Region. The role involves developing layouts, grading plans and details for landfills, industrial sites and utilities, from conceptual design through construction.

Based in one of our NC offices (Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington or Asheville) or other regional sites, you will produce accurate CAD drawings, mentor junior staff,

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in drafting or equivalent with CAD drafting experience.
• Autodesk AutoCAD Certified Professional (preferred).
• Experience with grading plans, alignments, surfaces and earthwork for civil projects.
• Experience with land surveying data and mapping files.
• Extensive AutoCAD knowledge and Civil 3D annotation tools.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and finalize design plans and details per drafting standards;
• Understand civil/geotechnical concepts and translate to drawings;
• Analyze input materials to determine best drawing approach;
• Manage drawing sets from creation to modification;
• Transfer information to final CAD drawings using standard symbols;
• Produce and review CAD drawings for accuracy;
• Mentor CAD Drafting Technicians and participate in CAD standards initiatives;
• Collaborate with CAD practitioners to ensure quality.
