Description
We are seeking a Senior Designer for our Greater Cincinnati office location. A successful candidate uses engineering principles and design software to design and develop plans for civil infrastructure projects.

Job Duties:

1. Prepare plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson Civil Suite.
2. Participate in technical studies, design, preparation of specifications, and technical plans.
3. Fill out and complete permit applications for processing.
4. Provide construction administration support including field observation reports.

General Characteristics

1. Advanced level of skills. Strives to become proficient in aspects of the software. Seeks to advance knowledge of project design development. Stays current on software updates and advises based on technical changes. Promotes and instructs others on advanced techniques and new methods.

Education

1. Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School or equivalent experience.

Certification/Licensure

Technical Responsibilities

1. Perform and guide others on deliverables with a focus on adherence to CAD standards, software utilization, and data management procedures; and ability to independently perform analyses.
2. Maintain an overall 'Big Picture' approach to the ongoing development, maintenance, and adherence to CAD Standards and data management procedures and make recommendations to supervisors.

Project and Task Management

1. Responsible for task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.

Management Responsibility

1. Focus significant effort on mentoring lower-level CAD Operators. Provide solutions to unique problems, cite insufficiencies, and supply recommendations.
2. Work independently with minimal supervision under general instructions. Receive general review of project work.

Communication Skills

1. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Facilitate interaction among staff. Effectively coach and mentor lower-level CAD Staff. Interact closely and effectively with the Project Team. Advise at regular project meetings.
