Databento is seeking a midlevel or senior IC to join our core engineering team. Youll own and maintain our C# client library and work on high-performance C++ server components, handling direct market data feeds, optimized for ultra-low latency.

This role emphasizes API design and developer experience for users of our market data platform. We value deep systems knowledge, multithreading, and familiarity with open-source practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C#.
• Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems.
• Familiarity with API design focused on developers.
• Knowledge of open source practices and release management.
• Experience with multithreading, data structures, and networking.

Responsabilités

• Own and maintain the C# client library, robust and well-tested.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance server apps in C++.
• Write parsers and feed handlers for direct market data feeds.
• Optimize code for throughput (millions of messages/sec) and nanosecond latency.
• Implement tools for petabyte-scale data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate on build, deployment, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Ensure smooth feature rollouts and uptime.
