Databento, a market data platform for modern finance, is seeking a midlevel to senior IC to join our core engineering team. You’ll own and maintain our C# client library and contribute to high-performance C++ components, including parsers and feed handlers for real-time data.

You should have 5+ years of full-time software engineering, strong C++ and C#, plus familiarity with APIs and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience, preferably in trading, tech, or high-growth startup.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C# with a track record of API design.
• Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems and distributed architectures.
• Familiarity with open source practices, release management, and backwards compatibility.

Responsabilités

• Own and maintain our C# client library, robust and well-tested.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance server applications in C++.
• Write parsers and feed handlers for direct market data feeds from venues.
• Optimize code for millions of messages per second and nanosecond latency.
• Implement tools for petabyte-scale data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate on build, deployment, CI/CD with systems team.
• Implement monitoring and improve application uptime.
• Ensure smooth feature rollouts and updates.
