Job summary

Generac is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage purchasing of complex components and maintain open lines of communication with multiple suppliers. The role involves cross-functional collaboration on issues such as cost, invoicing, and ECOs, while working to improve on-time delivery and raw material turns.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, plus several years in purchasing or planning within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field OR equivalent experience in the Supply Chain function within a similar working environment;
• 3 years of purchasing, planning or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven skills in problem solving, contract negotiation and project management.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard purchasing processes and strategies including procure-to-pay definition and optimization.
• Support supplier demand forecasting, capacity planning, inventory management, supplier replenishment and transactions.
• Manage supplier on-time delivery (OTD) performance, maintain data integrity and measure KPIs.
• Collaborate with Corporate Strategic Sourcing to identify key suppliers for spend categories.
• Recommend cost saving proposals, make-versus-buy analysis, alternate sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria.
• Plan and maintain optimal inventory level using PFEP.
• Identify and resolve issues delaying material deliveries.
• Coordinate ECO activities with suppliers and internal teams.
• Requisition major purchased items and coordinate timely processing of parts finished outside the company.
• Establish good working relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
• Apply creative problem-solving approaches to the area of responsibility.
