Job summary

The Legacy Companies, LLC in Avondale, PA is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead strategic and tactical procurement across materials, components, and services to support manufacturing and operations.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to balance cost, quality, inventory, lead times, and operational needs while driving supplier performance and cost improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
• Experience purchasing materials and components for manufacturing.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing/terms.
• Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory management, MRP, and lead times.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities for materials, components, finished goods, and services across locations.
• Support manufacturing purchasing requirements to maintain production schedules.
• Review demand, inventory levels, lead times, and open POs to determine actions.
• Create, issue and manage purchase orders with accurate terms and dates.
• Monitor open POs and communicate with suppliers about status and disruptions.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure material availability.
• Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and other terms.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and supplier consolidation.
• Analyze pricing trends and supplier performance to inform decisions.
• Identify supply risks and develop alternative sourcing strategies.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data and purchasing parameters.
• Support supplier reviews, onboarding of new suppliers, and process improvements.
