Job summary

BI Incorporated, located in Boulder, CO, seeks a Senior Buyer to strategically manage supplier bases, negotiate terms, and ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of raw materials and services. The role interfaces with the Director of Supply Chain and multiple internal teams on procurement activities.

The ideal candidate has extensive MRP/ERP experience, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and a proactive approach to supplier performance and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• APICS CPM certification preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills reflecting the global nature of today’s market and supply base.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal external contacts at all levels.
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Extensive knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems; Syteline ERP preferred.
• Good knowledge of contract law and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Strategically manages the supplier base to ensure accurate lead times for all parts and components.
• Proactively manages blanket purchase orders to meet demand and delivery requirements.
• Negotiates pricing and terms; purchases raw materials, components, and services.
• Monitors vendor compliance with purchase orders and contracts.
• Ensures contract pricing and specifications accuracy.
• Prepares and evaluates RFP/RFI bids and supplier recommendations.
• Evaluates supplier performance and conducts regular reviews.
• Issues purchase orders reflecting negotiated terms.
• Coordinates with other departments and suppliers to meet scope, timeline and value.
• Maintains Supplier Performance scorecard with Quality.
• Identifies cost-saving opportunities and lead-time reductions.
• Manages rejections, losses, and BOM changes; conducts make-versus-buy analyses.
• Leads supplier Quarterly Business Reviews; provides data on quality and delivery.
