Job summary

BI Incorporated in Boulder, Colorado seeks a Senior Buyer/Planner to bridge demand forecasting and procurement, minimize costs, optimize inventory health, and ensure material availability for production targets and customer commitments.

You will create master production schedules, monitor forecast accuracy, negotiate PO releases, and cultivate supplier performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain efficiency and resilience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years experience in supply chain, procurement or related area in manufacturing.
• CPM / APICS certification preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office.
• Extensive knowledge of MRP systems; Syteline ERP preferred.
• Good knowledge of contract law and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain forecasts to build master production schedules.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and improve planning processes.
• Negotiate pricing, release POs, and expedite shipments as needed.
• Develop vendor relationships and evaluate performance.
• Identify capacity constraints and prevent shortages.
• Monitor stock to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Finance to align demand and supply.
• Lead supplier reviews and drive lead-time reductions.
• Resolve supplier issues and escalate as needed.
• Support visibility of consignment inventory where applicable.
