Job summary

Generac is hiring a Senior Buyer to manage complex components and supplier relations. You will coordinate cross-functional teams on material issues, ECOs, and cost reductions while maintaining strong supplier performance metrics and on-time delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus 3+ years in purchasing within manufacturing. Strong data skills and SAP/ERP proficiency are expected in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of purchasing or planning experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong problem solving, negotiation and project management skills.
• Analytical mindset with focus on supplier performance and cost control.
• Experience with P2P processes and ECO coordination.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard purchasing processes and strategies including procure-to-pay definition and optimization.
• Support supplier demand forecasting, capacity planning, inventory management and procurement transactions.
• Manage supplier on-time delivery performance and KPI tracking (OTD, POs, invoicing).
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to identify key suppliers for spend categories.
• Recommend cost-saving proposals including make-versus-buy and volume discounts.
• Plan and maintain optimal levels of inventory using PFEP.
• Identify and resolve issues delaying material deliveries.
• Coordinate ECO activities with suppliers and internal teams.
• Requisition major items and ensure timely processing and delivery.
• Establish strong working relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
• Act as SAP Super User within the functional area.
