Job summary

Custom Profile in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Senior Buyer to optimize raw-material procurement and supplier partnerships. You will plan and execute procurement using MRP and Kanban signals, support launches, and maintain ERP data.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in materials management and resin procurement, hands-on ERP/MRP experience, and comfortable with supplier negotiations. A bachelor's degree is preferred, APICS certification optional.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of materials management and resin procurement experience.
• Personnel management experience.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• APICS certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute raw-material procurement using MRP, Kanban and other demand signals.
• Build strong partnerships with scheduling, manufacturing, sales, engineering and key suppliers.
• Lead MRO sourcing, purchasing and analysis in coordination with Production and Maintenance.
• Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Optimize MRP, source-list and material-master parameters, and proactively communicate availability risks.
• Partner with Program Management to secure materials for launches and engineering changes.
• Drive inventory, service and cost performance with production, scheduling and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate ERP data, including pricing, lead times, order quantities, safety stock and purchase-order details.
• Keep Safety Data Sheets and Technical Data Sheets current.
• Monitor purchase orders in IQMS and follow through to support on-time delivery.
• Lead or support RFQs, negotiations, cost-savings initiatives and supplier evaluations.
• Collaborate with Quality and suppliers to resolve nonconforming raw-material issues.
• Take on special projects and assignments as business needs evolve.
• Champion continuous improvement and help make Custom Profile safer, more efficient and more enjoyable.
