Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Buyer – Power Electronics to lead sourcing for critical power electronics across Hybrid and BEV programs. You will partner with engineering, finance, manufacturing, and global purchasing teams to deliver cost, quality, delivery, and technology solutions for next-generation vehicle programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or a related commercial function within automotive/electronics/manufacturing.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations, commercial sourcing activities, cost analysis, and contract execution.
• Experience cross-functionally with engineering and suppliers in a technical product development environment.
• Knowledge of power electronics or electronic components, BOM structures, tooling investments, and key cost drivers.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and supplier partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing execution across multiple vehicle programs for power electronics commodities (DC-DC Converters, OBC, Power Inverters, BMS, PCBAs).
• Own end-to-end sourcing process: supplier market assessments, RFIs/RFQs, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Drive cost performance through should-cost analysis, benchmarking, cost estimating, and fact-based negotiations.
• Partner with engineering to understand product designs, BOM structures, manufacturing processes, and key cost drivers.
• Develop and execute commodity and supply base strategies, including sourcing plans, pricing, tooling, and capacity planning.
• Manage sourcing deliverables to align with engineering milestones, vehicle program timing, and launch objectives.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate commercial, supply, and capacity risks.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement across cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and technology.
