Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead procurement for reactor construction and fuel fabrication programs. You will partner with engineering, operations, and project teams to align suppliers, contracts, and materials with aggressive milestones.

You will manage complex sourcing from strategy through execution, building efficient supply chain processes to enable fast growth and confident delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or expediting, including industrial or construction procurement.
• Hands-on experience with purchase orders, vendor management, and logistics coordination.
• Experience expediting and tracking long-lead and critical-path equipment deliveries.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement software, plus strong Excel skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication for vendor and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Own procurement of process and power plant equipment and construction materials from PO to delivery.
• Process purchase orders and requisitions; maintain procurement databases and tracking systems.
• Track and expedite critical/long-lead equipment deliveries; anticipate risks and resolve issues.
• Communicate with vendors to monitor production schedules and delivery commitments.
• Support supplier selection, bid evaluations, and vendor qualification with Procurement Engineering.
• Coordinate shipping, logistics, and delivery scheduling, including international freight and Incoterms.
• Escalate supply chain risks and decisions to procurement leadership with clear options.
• Ensure procurement complies with 10 CFR 830 QA requirements and trade regulations.
• Support supplier audits, qualifications, and quality certifications with QA.
