Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Buyer to own purchasing execution for assigned commodities and programs, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Finance to keep production on schedule.

You will manage PO creation, tracking, open PO accuracy, and supplier relationships, while ensuring compliance with nuclear industry regulatory requirements and ERP/MRP processes. This role rewards ownership and fast, hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or Operations.
• 5+ years of experience in hardware purchasing or supply chain in an ERP-driven environment.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment; detail-oriented, results-driven, good communicator, and team player.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end purchasing and ordering execution for assigned commodities/programs, including PO, Transfer Orders, and Returns.
• Own the accuracy of open POs; proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks and delays.
• Drive on-time, on-quality, and on-cost PO placement, tracking, and delivery.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Supplier Quality to ensure parts and purchasing activities comply with nuclear industry regulatory requirements (10 CFR 830) and maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships, managing expedites, schedule changes, and engineering changes.
• Resolve discrepancies in goods receipts and invoices to ensure timely supplier payment.
• Contribute to ERP/MRP system selection and implementation.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, import/export laws, and certifications.
