Job summary

Technip Energies in Houston is seeking a Buyer I to manage the complete purchasing cycle for allocated material requisitions within a global EPC context. You will ensure budget, schedule, quality, and execution objectives are met while adhering to company standards.

Collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to issue inquiries, evaluate bids, and negotiate with suppliers. You will maintain auditable records, close purchase orders, and support supplier performance and ethics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
• Experience in purchasing/procurement in complex projects or industrial environments.
• Experience preparing inquiries, evaluating bids, negotiating with suppliers, and managing purchase orders.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Recommend bidder lists aligned with project sourcing strategy.
• Prepare, issue, and manage inquiries and purchase orders using approved systems.
• Coordinate clarifications and negotiate through supplier selection with auditable records.
• Collaborate with Engineering to complete technical and commercial clarifications on schedule.
• Compile, issue, and administer purchase orders with supplier acknowledgement.
• Provide guidance to Buyer I and escalate high-risk exceptions.
• Manage scope changes during PO execution and prepare amendments.
• Support recovery of liquidated damages, back-charges, or supplier liabilities when documented.
• Close POs timely and contribute to supplier performance feedback.
• Maintain ethics, confidentiality, compliance in supplier interactions.
