Job summary

S&B, an EPC firm in Houston, seeks a Sr. Buyer to independently manage procurement for high-dollar, technically unique projects and lead purchasing activities. You will interface with clients and coordinate with engineering and construction management to support cost containment and profitability.

The role requires a four-year degree or seven years of related procurement experience, plus MS Office proficiency. Occasional site involvement and supplier negotiations are expected.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree is normally required, or seven years of equivalent procurement experience.
• Minimum of seven years of related procurement experience and strong MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of Project Procurement Plans and Procedures.
• Prepare and submit requests for quotations and evaluate supplier bids.
• Discuss needs with vendor, review alternatives, and advise on cost reductions and terms.
• Consult with vendor and project engineers regarding equipment suitability.
• Analyze quotations and select suppliers, then negotiate prices and delivery terms.
• Create bid tabulations and maintain procurement documents.
• Enter and distribute purchase orders and update supplier data.
