Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our growing procurement team focused on electronic components for aerospace applications. You will lead strategic sourcing for large BOMs, manage POs, and collaborate with engineering and production to forecast needs.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in electrical manufacturing buying with BOM and MRP experience, strong negotiation skills, and a proven cost-saving track record.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a buying role, specifically in electrical manufacturing.
• Experience purchasing electronic components is a must.
• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Strong knowledge of large, complex Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Aerospace/Defense industry experience is a plus.
• Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of electronic components.
• Manage and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Handle the creation, review, and management of Purchase Orders.
• Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to forecast procurement needs and manage inventory levels.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the quality, cost, and timely delivery of products and services.
• Work closely with the engineering and production teams to understand their needs and ensure that the procurement process supports those needs.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and internal demand to make informed buying decisions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering a positive and productive partnership.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
• Continually look for opportunities to improve the procurement process, identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
