Job summary

Aston Carter is hiring a Senior Buyer to oversee end-to-end procurement of direct materials for a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Wyandanch, NY. You will own supplier execution, manage POs, and maintain inventory alignment with demand plans.

Responsibilities include negotiating terms, optimizing costs, and ensuring on-time delivery while collaborating with Planning, Operations, Quality, R&D, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience in food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities for procurement and inventory reporting.
• Strong negotiation skills related to pricing, lead times, service levels, and MOQs.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for ingredients and packaging to support manufacturing.
• Create and manage purchase orders from issuance through receipt and invoice resolution.
• Monitor supplier confirmations, delivery commitments, and order status to ensure supply.
• Resolve purchasing, delivery, and supplier issues to minimize production impact.
• Maintain ERP data accuracy and coordinate with planning for demand alignment.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, lead times, and service levels; drive supplier performance.
