Job summary

Astronautics Corporation of America, based in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, seeks a Senior Buyer to secure avionics, components, and direct materials for development and production programs. You will lead supplier negotiations, manage RFQs and POs, and build partnerships to drive performance, quality, and on-time delivery.

This hybrid, on-site role reports to the Direct Sourcing Manager and requires collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to secure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• Alternative: a High School Diploma with at least three years of full-time procurement experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in a procurement-related function.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; IFS experience preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
• Exposure to methods to drive direct material sourcing savings.
• Ability to resolve problems to meet goals and timelines.
• Must build strong supplier relationships; work with internal customers and stakeholders.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier negotiations and contracting.
• Manage RFQs and purchase orders.
• Track KPIs and monitor supplier scorecards.
• Develop long-term pricing agreements and ensure compliance with government contracts.
• Ensure material deliveries align with customer commitments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Use ERP tools to meet customer deadlines.
