Job summary

Senior Aerospace SSP in Burbank, CA, is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage strategic sourcing of aerospace components, raw materials, and outside processing services to support production and engineering. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; or 10 years procurement experience.
• 7+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing, with 5+ years in aerospace components/raw materials.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and cost-analysis skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Infor, Mapics, Epicor, SAP, Oracle, LN, Global Shop, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
• Working knowledge of metals terminology, record-keeping, and ethics in purchasing.
• Advanced Excel; proficient in Word and general PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Procure aerospace components, raw materials, and outside processing services aligning with production schedules and MRPs.
• Manage supplier portfolio with negotiations, on-time delivery, and quality performance.
• Convert MRP recommendations into purchase orders while balancing inventory against demand.
• Negotiate pricing, LTAs, lead times, terms, and cost-avoidance opportunities.
• Analyze supplier capacity and market conditions to mitigate supply chain risk.
• Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve shortages and expedite deliveries.
• Mentor junior buyers and contribute to best practices in purchasing.
