Job summary

CMI Group Aerospace & Defense is seeking an experienced Sr. Buyer for our South Phoenix, AZ facility. This on-site role requires a strong background in manufacturing procurement and supplier management to ensure on-time delivery aligned with customer needs.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and have 5+ years of procurement experience. Strong communication and Excel skills are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business or similar technical discipline.
• 5+ years of prior manufacturing procurement experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive supplier material delivery in line with key customer requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and administer purchase orders to ensure material is delivered on time.
• Escalate within supplier and CMI for demand-supply gaps.
• Send RFQs and evaluate supplier quotes.
• Track multiple procurements by supplier and manage supplier improvement.
• Develop supplier relationships and drive supplier performance.
• Drive metrics like OTTR, PO acknowledgment, forecast alignment, past due and decommits.
• Commit to continuous improvement in Quality, Cost, Delivery and Lead Time.
