Job summary

PTI Technologies in Oxnard, CA is seeking a Buyer IV to procure complex commodities and services in support of production and NPI. You will negotiate terms, manage supplier performance, and ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR and program requirements.

The role requires strong sourcing, supplier management, and ERP/MRP proficiency, with minimal supervision in a government contracting environment. Candidates should have aerospace/defense procurement experience and a track record of cost improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; 8+ years procurement in aerospace/defense.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes (castings, forgings, CNC machining, anodizing, heat treatment).
• Strong understanding of FAR/DFAR, TINA, and small business subcontracting programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned commodities (castings, forgings, complex sub-assemblies) using MRP tools.
• Expedite or reschedule supplier deliveries to support production priorities.
• Issue and manage RFQs; analyze supplier proposals and source strategies.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and delivery schedules per contractual requirements.
• Prepare and issue accurate PO’s with corporate and government terms and conditions.
• Lead supplier meetings and corrective action plans for non-conformance and delays.
• Track procurement metrics: spend, PPV, inventory turns, on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Accounting, and PM on supplier matters.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP; manage tooling and CUI purchases.
