Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Senior Buyer to provide timely procurement review and support for all transactions, including eVA, VITA, SWaM and SPCC. The role includes training staff on procurement mandates and ensuring compliance with VPPA and APSPM.

To provide timely procurement review, support, oversight and assistance for all procurement transactions to include eVA, VITA, SWaM and SPCC to include training and guidance to all DJJ Staff for the above initiatives and mandates.
Considerable knowledge of the principles and best practices of procuring goods and services by appropriate methods as illustrated in the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA), the Department of General Services, Division of Purchase and Supply’s Agency Procurement and Surplus Property Manual (APSPM) and the ability to interpret and train staff on the content of the VPPA and the APSPM. Must have extensive knowledge and the use of eVA, VITA and the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (DSBSD) SWaM requirements.
Selected applicants are subject to a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen. Investigations may include fingerprint checks (State Police, FBI); local agency checks; employment verification; verification of education (if required and relevant to employment); credit checks; and other checks based on the position.
Pre-employment medical screenings are required for some DJJ positions.
A valid driver’s license is required of DJJ employees to operate a state-owned or leased vehicle.
