The Impact You Will Make

This is a great opportunity at our Northridge location as a Buyer to purchase materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. The individual will work with vendors, evaluate bids, and negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in ERP (D365) and understanding of planning systems, including relevant transactions.
• Analyze and execute long- and short-term MRP requirements.
• If involved in Co-Mfg Services (OSP), experience in capacity planning.
• Manage shortages and support OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) delivery.
• Manage obsolete inventory (artwork changes, raw materials, WIP).
• Develop and implement safety stock strategies.
• Support expire/retest processes.
• Ensure accuracy in ERP-related purchase orders, including past due dates and quantities.
• Ensure supply meets demand in terms of timing, quantity, and cost, including expire/retest considerations.
• Support the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of planning, procurement, and inventory management theories and practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), ERP systems, Quality Management Systems, and online procurement portals.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Master's Degree preferred.
• Over 2 years of experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, aerospace, medical devices).
• Over 1 year of experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TQMS, Yellow Belt/Green Belt.
• ISM Certification (e.g., CPSM, APSM).
• APICS/ASCM Certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, CLTD).
• Understanding of supply chain fundamentals, materials management, warehouse operations, transportation/logistics, and enterprise economics.
