Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Life Sciences procurement team. You will drive strategic sourcing, manage direct and indirect materials, and lead supplier negotiations within a regulated manufacturing environment.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost, quality, and delivery while ensuring compliance with FDA/GMP standards. NetSuite expertise is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
• 5+ years of purchasing/buying experience within Life Sciences or related regulated industries.
• Advanced NetSuite ERP experience required.
• Strong supplier negotiation and contract management experience.
• Experience supporting FDA‑regulated or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Ability to analyze inventory, forecasts, and purchasing data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Use NetSuite to manage procurement for direct and indirect materials, equipment, and services.
• Create and manage purchase orders, supplier contracts, and procurement docs.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and service agreements with suppliers.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Analyze spending trends and supplier performance to identify savings.
• Support new product introductions and supplier qualification activities.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, ISO 13485, and related requirements.
• Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and material shortages.

Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our growing Life Sciences organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management within the Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Diagnostic industries. This role will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of direct and indirect materials while maintaining quality, regulatory, and cost objectives. Hands-on NetSuite ERP experience is required.

Days: Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Must have experience using NetSuite
• Manage procurement activities for direct and indirect materials, equipment, and services supporting Life Sciences manufacturing and operations.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Create and manage purchase orders, supplier contracts, and procurement documentation within NetSuite ERP.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, lead times, and service agreements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance teams to support production and business objectives.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure uninterrupted supply of critical materials.
• Analyze spending trends and supplier performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support new product introductions and supplier qualification activities.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and material shortages while minimizing operational impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
• 5+ years of purchasing/buying experience within the Life Sciences, Medical Device, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or related regulated manufacturing industry.
• Advanced NetSuite ERP experience required.
• Strong supplier negotiation and contract management experience.
• Experience supporting FDA‑regulated or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Ability to analyze inventory, forecasts, and purchasing data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Preferred

• APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Experience sourcing international suppliers.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA, GMP, and quality system requirements.
• Experience supporting contract manufacturing or highly regulated production environments.
