Job Summary

The Senior Business Systems Analyst, Reinsurance will support analysis, design, and implementation of reinsurance solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of reinsurance contracts, treaties, and financial transactions, with expertise in policy administration systems, claims, and financial reporting. The role involves stakeholder collaboration, documenting requirements, and ensuring system integration. The position may be hybrid in-office.

Job Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to reinsurance operations, including treaties and facultative reinsurance.
• Partner with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and finance teams for seamless process integration.
• Design, implement, and enhance reinsurance processing systems in collaboration with IT.
• Perform GAP analysis to improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Define data requirements and ensure accurate mapping for reporting and reconciliation.
• Generate reports for reinsurance settlements, bordereaux, ceding statements, and recoverables.
• Work with BI and data teams on dashboards and analytics for reinsurance performance.
• Develop test plans, execute UAT, and validate system calculations.
• Conduct JAD sessions and stakeholder meetings to gather input and align requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party platforms for system integration.
• Document business processes, workflows, and SOPs; identify automation opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 6-8 years as a Business Systems Analyst in Insurance/Reinsurance.
• Knowledge of reinsurance types and processes.
• Experience with Reinsurance Systems (e.g., SAP FS-RI, Sapiens, Majesco).
• 5+ years as an IT Lead Business Analyst in reinsurance projects.
• Property and casualty insurance knowledge preferred.
• Experience with workshops, backlog management, and SDLC tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps).
• Proficiency in SQL and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Adaptability to changing environments.

The salary range in New York Metro is $140,000-$155,000.
