Job summary

Fragomen invites a Business Immigration Associate to join a dynamic, fee-focused team in Washington. You will work closely with clients, Partners, and senior staff to develop and implement immigration strategies while managing complex matters.

The role requires a U.S. JD or LLM, bar admission, and 5–8 years of Associate-level experience with strong communication and analytical skills. A collaborative, fast-paced environment is expected with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• U.S. JD or LLM required.
• Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association.
• 5–8 years of experience at Associate level.
• Comprehensive knowledge of immigration law.
• Prior team management experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, strengthen, and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
• Formulate immigration strategies for complex matters and present concise arguments.
• Engage with clients at middle and senior management levels, offering counsel as needed.
• Serve as a business advisor with deep knowledge of immigration law and client industry risks.
• Acquire sector-specific expertise and apply it to client scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with firm protocols and data quality in Connect and other systems.
• Research complex immigration issues and prepare/filing strategies for cases.
• Identify revenue opportunities and growth within the client base.
• Supervise Associates and staff, providing mentoring and performance feedback.
• Lead process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and standardization.
• Support proposals, business plans, and RFPs; participate in marketing and BD activities.
• Foster collaboration across teams locally, regionally, and firmwide.
