Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking a Senior Business Development Specialist to support our Sacramento-based PCI operations. You will drive customer engagement, orchestrate events, and assist proposals and reporting across internal teams.

The role emphasizes organization, follow-through, and clear communication to advance opportunities and JV pursuits. Competency in PowerPoint and Excel is expected, with a focus on stakeholder relationships and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years in marketing, business development, event coordination, communications, or related discipline preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate customer-facing events including logistics, scheduling, and communications.
  • Support proposal development through content creation, editing, and formatting.
  • Maintain Opportunities module and leadership reporting with the estimating team.
  • Develop professional slide decks and presentation materials for scope reviews and interviews.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Business Development Specialist to join our team in our PCI Sacramento 556 operations based in North Highland, CA. This individual will be responsible for supporting our business development, estimating, operations, and finance teams by driving organization, visibility, and consistency across customer engagement, opportunity tracking, internal joint venture (JV) pursuits, and proposal support. This is an execution-focused role that requires strong attention to detail, follow-through, and clear communication.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate customer-facing events including lunches, breakfasts, relationship-building meetings, and other networking activities by managing all logistics, reservations, scheduling, confirmations, and communications.

  • Ensure internal team members are prepared for customer engagements and accountable for attendance, meeting objectives, and follow-up actions.

  • Maintain and manage the Opportunities module in partnership with the estimating team, ensuring opportunity data remains accurate, up to date, and actionable for leadership reporting and decision-making.

  • Support proposal development efforts through content creation, writing, editing, formatting, and presentation preparation.

  • Develop professional slide decks and presentation materials for scope reviews, customer interviews, and business development meetings.

  • Attend industry events and assist in identifying networking, business development, and market opportunities relevant to company growth objectives.

  • Track event participation and potential business opportunities generated through industry involvement and customer engagement activities.

  • Coordinate customer entertainment and relationship-building events, including golf outings, conferences, and multi-day activities, by arranging reservations, accommodations, schedules, and related logistics.

  • Assist in managing current and upcoming opportunities in the business to support operational planning and facility throughout.

  • Track internal joint venture (JV) opportunities, including bidding activity, partner involvement, and project outcomes, while ensuring timely communication of JV information to the group.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, operations teams, estimators, finance personnel, customers, and industry partners.

  • Communicate professionally and effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all systems, databases, reporting tools, and business development platforms.

  • Assist with additional business development initiatives, reporting, and special projects as assigned.


Salary range:

$96,000 - $128,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.


Basic Requirements:


  • At least 2 years of experience and/or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in marketing, business development, event coordination, communications, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Ability to support business development initiatives through event planning, relationship management, and brand awareness activities.

  • Experience creating and editing professional proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and event logistics simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records, data, and reporting.
