Job summary

Volvo Group's Volvo Autonomous Solutions in Fort Worth seeks a Senior Business Development Manager to own the full sales cycle for autonomous partnerships and to drive revenue growth in a global transport ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of transportation sales or business development experience.
  • Proven track record of closing new business and meeting quota.
  • Experience selling truckload transportation solutions (asset-based, dedicated, managed transportation, 3PL).
  • Experience selling with technology partners, channel partners, or strategic alliances.
  • Demonstrated success building long-term customer relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with commercial, operational, and leadership teams.

What you will do

We are a newly formed, wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Autonomous Solutions NA (part of Volvo Group), created to transform the future of freight through autonomous trucking technology and a new transportation eco-system. Our ecosystem delivers seamless, integrated transport solutions designed to our customers’ needs and enables accelerated adoption of autonomous transportation, including business models such as Transportation-as-a-Service (TaaS). Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, we are seeing a Senior Business Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution, carrying an annual signed revenue target.
  • Manage day-to-day commercial activities with autonomous partners, including joint customer pursuits and partner-generated opportunities.
  • Convert partner-sourced opportunities into long-term customer agreements.
  • Develop and close direct shipper relationships that align with network and growth objectives.
  • Represent the company alongside leadership in commercial partner discussions and governance forums.
  • Present the value proposition of autonomous freight solutions, emphasizing customer service, reliability, capacity, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure customer commitments and service requirements are realistic, documented, and aligned with operational capabilities.
  • Support contract negotiations in partnership with Sales and Pricing leadership.
  • Maintain accurate CRM pipeline data, forecasts, and business development metrics.
  • Contribute market insights and commercial recommendations that support revenue growth and network expansion.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven track record of personally closing new business and consistently achieving or exceeding quota targets.
  • 8+ years of transportation sales or business development experience.
  • Experience selling truckload transportation solutions, including asset-based, dedicated, managed transportation, private fleet conversion, or 3PL services.
  • Experience selling with or through technology partners, channel partners, or strategic alliances.
  • Demonstrated success building long-term customer relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with commercial, operational, and leadership teams in complex B2B environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with autonomous transportation, emerging mobility solutions, or transportation technology platforms.
  • Experience helping scale a startup, high-growth business, or commercialization effort from pilot to production.
  • Refrigerated, temperature-controlled, or specialized transportation experience.
  • Established shipper relationships within key Sunbelt freight markets.

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $128,300.00 - $158,400.00/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
