Job description

Base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.

Location: OH and IN - Remote

Salary: $128,833.00 to $161,042

Business Developer will develop utility-scale wind, solar power, and energy storage projects in the Lower Midwest region of the U.S. (Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri) to achieve commercially operating renewable power stations in markets such as MISO Central, KU-LGE, and Northern TVA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and/or manage site development of solar energy and energy storage projects, including establishing site control through lease or purchase options, permitting, and managing community relations.
  • Assist in project acquisition efforts, including due diligence and negotiations of purchase and sale agreements.
  • Serve as a key contact for stakeholders, including landowners and officials.
  • Maintain internal controls by providing budgets, schedules, and reports to senior management.
  • Lead project teams coordinating across multiple disciplines.
  • Develop regional strategies and business opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in wind and solar project development in the Midwest.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% or more within the Midwest and to Oregon headquarters.
  • Experience in contract review, project management, and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Based within 100 miles of the specified area and an airport.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in renewable energy or battery storage in the Midwest.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, Google Earth, or similar mapping software.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of land use practices and title/survey requirements for land transactions.
