Job summary

S&T Bank is seeking a results-oriented underwriter leader to assist in underwriting all Business Banking loan products in a centralized environment. You will oversee day-to-day operations and provide first-level support to Underwriter I staff and bank personnel involved in lending activities.

Responsibilities include guiding workflow, making timely lending decisions, ensuring compliance with lending laws and policies, and training colleagues.

Qualifications

• Requires five to ten years of experience with Commercial Underwriting and related experience in Credit Analysis, Commercial Lending, Portfolio Management, Loan Review, or Special Assets.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the efficient and effective work flow of the underwriter staff to include: Allocating work and assisting in leading underwriting staff, e.g. monitor daily work queue for efficient application turn-time.
• Underwrite and make timely lending decisions that empower the individual with delegated lending authority for approving credit facilities.
• Contributes to the development and growth of a high quality/volume portfolio.
• Assures compliance with all applicable lending laws and regulations.
• Demonstrates consistency and fairness to all applicants.
• Provides first level support to the Business Banking Underwriter I's through guidance along with leadership, judgment and decision making support.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn the organization.
