Job summary

NuAxis is actively seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead requirements elicitation and documentation for complex IT initiatives. You will translate business needs into clear technical specifications and act as the bridge between stakeholders and delivery teams.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in business analysis, Agile certifications, and experience with process modeling, traceability, and coordinating UAT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Five to eight years of business analysis experience on complex IT projects.
• Agile certifications required (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or equivalent).
• IIBA CCBA or PMI-PBA obtainable within 180 days of assignment.
• Preferred: IIBA CBAP; SAFe Product Owner/PM.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop process flow diagrams, current-state and future-state models, and data flow documentation.
• Conduct gap analysis, facilitate requirements workshops, and perform cost-benefit analyses.
• Maintain requirements traceability from origin through design, build, test, and acceptance.
• Validate delivered systems meet business objectives; coordinate User Acceptance Testing.
• Mentor junior analysts and support backlog grooming and sprint planning.

Job Summary

Leads business analysis for complex IT projects, eliciting and documenting detailed requirements from stakeholders across multiple organizational units. Translates business needs into technical specifications and serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop process flow diagrams, current-state and future-state models, and data flow documentation.
• Conduct gap analysis, facilitate requirements workshops, and perform cost-benefit analysis for proposed solutions.
• Maintain requirements traceability from origin through design, build, test, and acceptance.
• Validate that delivered systems meet stated business objectives; coordinate User Acceptance Testing.
• Mentor junior analysts and support backlog grooming and sprint planning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum Experience: Five (5) to eight (8) years of business analysis experience supporting complex IT projects.
• Certifications - Required: Agile certification (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or equivalent).
• Certifications - Obtainable After Hire: IIBA Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), within 180 days of assignment.
• Certifications - Preferred: IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP); SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager.
• Required Skills: Requirements elicitation and documentation; user story and acceptance criteria authoring; process modeling (BPMN, UML); gap and cost-benefit analysis; requirements traceability; workshop facilitation; stakeholder management; UAT coordination.
• Preferred Skills: Federal sector experience; low-code platform requirements experience; Section 508 requirements awareness; data analysis and reporting.

Jira and Confluence; Microsoft Visio and Lucidchart; BPMN 2.0 and UML notation; Miro collaborative workshops; Microsoft 365 and SharePoint; Excel and Power BI for analysis; Figma for design review; SQL for data validation; Azure DevOps boards.
