Scope
The Specialist I has deep knowledge within a designated IT area, collaborating with customers, vendors, industry consultants, and management to drive results. This role supports IT projects and may guide other IT staff.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain critical planning, monitoring, and reporting processes, including documentation, to ensure timely project completion.
- Work with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and align software solutions with organizational goals.
- Lead project status meetings, confirm milestones, and ensure goals are met.
- Assist in software design, testing, and deployment under senior team members' guidance.
- Address user needs, ensuring software meets end-user requirements.
- Contribute to development and coding of enterprise software applications.
- Participate in issue identification and solution discussions to optimize solutions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools.
- Communicate project updates effectively and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain development documentation, including standards and user manuals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Suggest process improvements and innovative solutions.
- Engage in training and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Promote Diversity, Equity & Inclusion principles.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, data privacy, and cybersecurity standards.

Customer Business Analyst / Project Manager Responsibilities
- Guide strategy and align with core business strategies.
- Manage client relationships and assist with new solutions or changes.
- Document requirements and secure customer approval.
- Coordinate with application owners and support IT strategy adherence.
- Oversee scope, schedule, and interfaces with IT teams.
- Review project objectives and suggest cost-effective solutions.
- Analyze processes, identify improvements, and recommend solutions.
- Develop and document new systems to meet business needs.
- Manage multiple applications within a functional area.
- Ensure high-quality execution of project tasks.
- Coordinate software and hardware deployment and upgrades.
- Apply growing knowledge of IT best practices.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year degree or equivalent in a related field, with five years of relevant experience, or nine years of experience without a degree.
- Effective communication skills with diverse audiences.
- Technical knowledge relevant to the role.
- Ability to learn applicable statutes and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and time management skills.
Working Conditions
Primarily indoor office environment, with possible remote work following policies. May include environmental conditions at project sites or vendor facilities, such as mechanical parts, fumes, extreme temperatures, or noise.
