Job summary

Dublin City Schools is seeking a Head Bus Mechanic in the Transportation department. You will diagnose, repair and maintain the district’s fleet to ensure safe, reliable service that supports the educational program.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, six years’ mechanic experience, proficiency in repair and maintenance of buses and trucks, Ohio CDL with B-SP endorsement, strong communication, and physical ability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in repair & maintenance of buses, trucks, and fleet equipment.
• Six years of mechanic experience.
• Excellent communications skills and professional interaction.
• Physically capable of lifting and handling equipment.
• Physically qualified per Ohio rules.
• Ohio CDL with B-SP Endorsement.
• Alternative qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair district fleet equipment.
• Maintain current inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assist Fleet Head with maintenance system and preventive care.
• Comply with OSHA and all laws for maintenance and operation.
• Maintain records and safety standards in work areas.
• Report safety hazards and accidents promptly.
• Attend departmental in-service meetings.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and waste.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Other duties as assigned by Superintendent.
