Job summary

W.W. Williams is seeking a highly skilled Bumper-to-Bumper Truck Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, perform preventive maintenance, and provide emergency service as needed.

You will work with other technicians to complete scheduled work safely and to the customer’s satisfaction, applying knowledge of electrical and air systems and heavy-duty components. This role requires hands-on problem solving, strong attention to safety, and the ability to communicate repair findings

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience servicing tractor/heavy equipment and medium to heavy-duty diesel trucks.
• Strong knowledge of EGR/emissions control systems, foundation, air, ABS brake systems, and DC electrical systems.
• Experience with Freightliner/Detroit engines, chassis, drivelines, hubs, wheel seals, and air conditioning systems.
• Computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures of vehicles, including disassembling, repairing, and reassembling parts as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical and air systems issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Repair diesel trucks, including engines, alignments, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other vital parts for safe operation.
