Job summary

AFRY USA is seeking a Senior Building Systems Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for diverse facilities. You will guide a team of engineers and designers, evolving project concepts into construction drawings and specifications while ensuring quality and adherence to codes.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years in building mechanical engineering, and strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Building Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer required.

Responsibilities

• Lead small and large projects with minimal oversight, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule.
• Prepare proposals and marketing materials with project scope write‑ups.
• Define project scope, budgets, and design approach.
• Meet with clients for preliminary planning and design concepts.
• Ensure timely delivery within budget and client expectations.
• Design building mechanical systems and components per codes and AFRY standards.
• Collaborate with structural, process, electrical, architectural, and civil teams.
