Job summary

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is seeking a Senior Operating Engineer to securely operate and maintain the campus boiler and chiller plants, energy controls, and related systems. Shift is Sunday–Thursday, 3pm–11pm, with duties including monitoring temperatures, reviewing energy data, and performing minor repairs.

The role requires a High school diploma and experience with building systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, and safety procedures; training in CPR may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and mechanical equipment such as HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, and related facilities equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains boilers, chiller plant, pumps, piping, and energy controls.
• Monitors space temperatures and energy usage; adjusts systems to meet campus goals.
• Performs minor emergency repairs and participates in safety and emergency response teams.
