Job summary

SAFEbuilt, Inc in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a talented Building Official to join our team of professionals. You will enforce state and local code compliance, review plans, and perform inspections across multiple trades while liaising with clients to deliver top-tier service.

The role requires OH CBO/CCO certification (Lvl 5/6) or equivalent, with plumbing/electrical specializations considered a plus; valid driver's license and mobility for field work are expected.

Qualifications

• OH Commercial Building Official (CBO) (Lvl 5) or Comprehensive Code Official (CCO) (Lvl 6) certification is required.
• Plumbing and/or electrical specializations are a plus (Level 2 (RLC-REI) or Level 3 (RLC-ESI)).
• Additional OH certifications are a plus.
• Inspection experience preferred.
• Client and team management experience in a building department setting preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Meet all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day building department functions.
• Serve as the primary liaison with clients to ensure high levels of customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform some plan reviews (commercial and residential) in all trades.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
