Job summary

Interwest Consulting Group in California is seeking experienced ICC Certified Building Inspectors to join our Building and Safety Group. You will perform daily field inspections of residential, commercial, and public facility construction projects and explain technical information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans for code compliance with City, State, and CA codes; maintaining inspection records; and entering results into permitting software.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures.
• 3+ yrs. experience interpreting codes in the field and providing code compliant solutions.
• CA International Building Codes editions updated and current.
• Ability to interact positively with staff, public, contractors, and officials.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of residential, commercial, and public facility projects.
• Explain technical information to diverse audiences, including non-technical.
• Review plans and calculations for code compliance.
• Provide interpretations of standards and local ordinances.
• Maintain records, inspection results, and logs in permitting software.
• Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
