Job summary

The City of Aubrey is seeking a Sr. Building Inspector to perform inspections before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with adopted building codes, floodplain management, zoning, and related city regulations, and to support the permitting process.

The position requires plan review in the field, technical guidance to developers and contractors, preparation of inspection reports, and coordination with Fire and Planning Departments for Certificates of Occupancy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain Class C Driver's License.
• TSBPE Plumbing Inspector License or ability to obtain within 12 months of hiring.
• Two ICC inspectors' Certification; or a trade license with one ICC certification; or two years as an Inspector with ability to obtain two ICC certifications within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential, commercial, and industrial structures for code compliance.
• Review and process permit applications and plans.
• Provide technical assistance to developers, architects, engineers, contractors, property owners, and city staff.
