Job summary

City of Aubrey (TX) seeks a Senior Building Inspector to conduct inspections before, during, and after construction, ensuring compliance with adopted codes and city regulations. The role includes plan review, permit processing support, and coordination with Fire and Planning Departments.

The ideal candidate will read complex plans, interpret ICC codes, and provide technical guidance to developers and property owners while maintaining certifications and continuing education.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain Class C Driver's License.
• TSBPE Plumbing Inspector License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Two ICC inspections certifications or trade license plus one ICC certification.

Responsibilities

• Inspects residential, commercial, and industrial structures for code compliance.
• Reviews permits and plans for residential remodels, additions, decks, and pools.
• Provides technical assistance to developers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Performs MS4 compliance inspections and landscape/backflow inspections.
• Completes inspection reports with deficiencies and applicable code references.
