Job summary

UL Solutions in Nashville, TN seeks a Building Inspector to review commercial buildings for safety code compliance across local, state and federal regulations. You will inspect fire protection systems, read codes and drawings, travel to sites, and communicate with owners to ensure timely corrections.

Preferred candidates hold an Associate's degree in a related field, with ~5 years in inspection or engineering.

Qualifications

• University-level education or equivalent in mechanical/electrical/fire safety engineering.
• Ability to read codes, manuals, drawings and specifications.
• Strong verbal communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect complex buildings for fire and life safety and fire protection system compliance.
• Assess buildings across commercial, industrial, residential and hospitality sectors.
• Travel up to 50% to meet owners and facility managers and communicate code requirements.
• Interpret building codes and identify non-compliant installations.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable codes and professional practices.
