Job summary

clearinvestmentgroup is seeking a Building Facilities Engineer to oversee maintenance, repair, and operation of a 23-story commercial office building in the Downtown Chicago Loop. You will ensure that HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems run safely and efficiently, providing tenants with a well-maintained workspace.

The role entails inspections, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, safety compliance, energy management, and on-site emergency response, with strong vendor coordination

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of building engineer or related experience in high-rise environments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems for tall buildings.
• Certifications such as HVAC, EPA, or building systems engineering preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex building system issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication with residents, vendors and management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation and maintenance of building MEP systems.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building infrastructure issues.
• Ensure safety compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Monitor energy usage and recommend improvements to reduce costs.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with vendors for repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and safety checks.
• Interact with tenants to address maintenance requests.
