Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a senior, technically skilled professional to lead building envelope and roofing design efforts. The role involves advising architects and clients on performance, overseeing shop drawing reviews, and developing roof replacement scopes for new builds and replacements.

You will manage projects, coordinate with teams, and produce detailed reports while ensuring compliance with local codes and construction standards. Strong communication and mentoring are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in building envelope/enclosure and roofing with emphasis on new construction and roof replacement.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or an Engineering discipline.
• Strong expertise in roof shop drawing/submittal review and developing roof replacement scopes of work.
• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
• RRO or RRC certifications strongly preferred for candidates without PE/RA credentials.
• Knowledge of architectural design theories/concepts and local codes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake building envelope/roofing design, detailing and analysis, and participate in testing, fabrication and construction administration.
• Advise architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.
• Develop comprehensive roof replacement scopes of work for both new construction and roof replacement projects.
• Manage staff or team and foster training/mentoring.
• Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by manager.
