Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) in Honolulu seeks a project-manager-level Building Enclosure Consultant (Senior Associate) to lead complex building envelope projects. You will guide client development, scope, teams, schedules, and budgets while performing on-site investigations and field testing.

You will mentor staff, collaborate across TRGs, and contribute to business development while leveraging WJE’s laboratory capabilities and interdisciplinary culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, or Civil Engineering; master’s preferred.
• RA or PE license; RBEC/RRC/RWC/REWC may be considered with relevant expertise.
• Minimum eight years of relevant industry experience with building envelope systems and related fields; 10+ years preferred.
• Experience with facades, curtain walls, fenestrations, glazing, insulation, air/water barriers, and related assemblies.
• Understanding Hawaii’s tropical environment and its effect on building envelopes.
• Excellent technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication; hands-on field work.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple concurrent projects from start to finish, including client development, scoping, team assembly, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Oversee on-site investigations, condition assessments, testing, data collection, and reporting.
• Prepare proposals, analyses, repair options, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop local relationships with contractors, designers, building officials, and Hawaii’s culture.
• Contribute to company initiatives, TRGs, professional organizations, and business development.
