Job summary

Colliers International is seeking a Chief Engineer to ensure maintenance systems run efficiently and safely for our clients and properties in the United States. You will respond to requests, prioritize work orders with support from a Building Engineer, and lead preventative maintenance programs.

You will develop budgets, review RFPs, and supervise contractors while maintaining strong relationships with property managers, vendors, and leadership.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in building/property maintenance or engineering.
• Solid knowledge of large building HVAC systems/maintenance, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems, and other building mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel).
• Flexibility to be on-call to respond to after-hours / weekend emergency requests.
• Proven ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Central Plant (including Chiller) experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and check daily operating logs for the central plant, including Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, fan units, graphs, meters, and general complaints.
• Ensure building systems and tenant service requests are handled efficiently at the most economical cost.
• Assist in development of the annual budget and RFP process for budgeted projects, including scope of work, vendor selection, bid analysis, and vendor recommendation.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors and evaluate quality of completed work related to base building responsibilities.
• Work with property managers on building issues and with owners on property-related issues.
• Work independently or with a team on special and ongoing projects.
