Job summary

Colliers International is seeking a Building Engineer in Austin, TX to ensure maintenance systems run safely and efficiently for client properties. You will respond to requests, manage work orders, and perform preventative maintenance while building strong relationships with managers and vendors.

The role requires 3–5 years in building maintenance or engineering, solid HVAC/electrical/plumbing knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

3–5 years in building/property maintenance or engineering.
HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems knowledge.
MS Office proficiency; on-call for emergencies.

Responsibilities

Ensure maintenance systems run efficiently to keep client properties safe.
Respond to client requests, prioritize/assign work orders, and track downtime.
Conduct regular inspections, alarm testing, and preventative maintenance.
Develop/maintain relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders.
Manage multiple priorities, including inventory, records and schedules.
Maintain daily operating logs for HVAC units, meters and complaints.
Ensure building systems/tenant requests are handled cost-effectively.
Assist in annual budget development and RFP processes for projects.
Understand procedures and chemical treatment levels for cooling towers/boilers.
Have a valid driver’s license.
