Job summary
dbHMS is seeking a Senior Building Enclosure Commissioning Project Manager in Chicago. This technically focused architect/engineer will lead commissioning services, work with clients and designers, and expand our building enclosure offerings across projects while ensuring quality and sustainability.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years in evaluation, commissioning, and design of building enclosure components, with travel as needed. The role supports hybrid/remote work and cross-office collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or Engineering.
- Strong technical writing and concise communication skills.
- Experience leading teams (6–10) and managing projects.
- Willingness to travel to out-of-state projects on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients and project teams to expand commissioning services.
- Review project details for performance, constructability, and long-term maintainability.
- Author project specifications and review others' specifications.
- Develop enclosure reports, marketing content, and white papers.
- Conduct field observations and enclosure testing per standards.
- Provide technical coaching to entry–mid level engineers.
